The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is not fitting for a believer to humiliate himself."They asked, "How does he humiliate himself?"He replied, "By exposing himself to trials he cannot endure."
[Its chain of transmission is daif]. Ibn Majah also narrated it in the Book of Fitnah, chapter of the saying of Allah Most High, "O you who believe, take care of yourselves", no. 4016, from Muhammad bin Bashshar with the same wording.Ali bin Zayd bin Jadan is daif, and Hasan Basri used the vague transmission form (an'ana) if the chain reaching him is even sound. The hadith has daif corroborating narrations, among them the mursal narration of Hasan Basri and the hadith of Mujahid from Ibn Umar, whose chain is daif, since Ibn Abu Najeeh is a mudallis and used the vague transmission form (an'ana), if the chain reaching him is even sound.
