The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the people of Sham become corrupt, there is no good in you. A group from my nation will continue to be granted victory, unharmed by those who forsake them, until the Hour arrives."Muhammad bin Ismail said that Ali bin al-Madini said, "They are the people of hadith."

قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا فسد أهل الشام فلا خير فيكم لا تزال طائفة من أمتي منصورين لا يضرهم من خذلهم حتى تقوم الساعة قال محمد بن إسمعيل قال علي بن المديني هم أصحاب الحديث
[Its isnad is sahih]. Ibn Majah related it in the Introduction, chapter "Following the sunnah of the Messenger of Allah" ﷺ, no. 6, from the hadith of Shubah, with the same wording. It is also found in Musnad Abu Dawud Tayalisi, no. 1076, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 2313. On this subject there are also reports from Abdullah bin Hawalah [Ahmad: 5/33], Ibn Umar [coming up: 3953], Zayd bin Thabit [coming up: 3954], and Abdullah bin Amr [Abu Dawud, no. 2482].The hadith of Bahz bin Hakeem, from his father, from his grandfather, has an isnad that is hasan, and it has other routes in Tabarani, 19/420, no. 1015, and elsewhere.
