The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Among the signs of the son of Adam's happiness is his contentment with what Allah has decreed for him, and among the signs of the son of Adam's misery is his abandoning seeking guidance from Allah, and among the signs of the son of Adam's misery is his discontent with what Allah has decreed for him."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا أبو عامر عن محمد بن أبي حميد عن إسمعيل بن محمد بن سعد بن أبي وقاص عن أبيه
قال رسول الله ﷺ من سعادة ابن آدم رضاه بما قضى الله له ومن شقاوة ابن آدم تركه استخارة الله ومن شقاوة ابن آدم سخطه بما قضى الله له
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Ahmad also narrated it in 1/168 through Muhammad bin Abu Humayd, and he is daif.
