The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us while we were arguing about divine decree. He became so angry that his face turned red, as though pomegranate seeds had been crushed against his cheeks.He said, "Is this what you were commanded to do? Is this what I was sent to you with? Those before you were destroyed only when they argued about this matter. I urge you, do not dispute over it."

خرج علينا رسول الله ﷺ ونحن نتنازع في القدر فغضب حتى احمر وجهه حتى كأنما فقئ في وجنتيه الرمان فقال أبهذا أمرتم أم بهذا أرسلت إليكم إنما هلك من كان قبلكم حين تنازعوا في هذا الأمر عزمت عليكم ألا تتنازعوا فيه

[Its isnad is daif]. Ibn Hibban recorded it in al-Majruhin, 1/372, from the hadith of Salih al-Murri, and he is daif, and his teacher used "an" (indicating a possible break in transmission). The hadith has daif corroborating narrations with Abu Yaala, Harith bin Abu Usama, and others.On this subject there is also a report from Umar [Abu Dawud, no. 4710, with the wording, "Do not sit with the people of predestination (qadr), nor open discussion with them," its isnad is daif, though Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1825], from Ayesha [Ibn Majah, no. 84], and from Anas [Tabarani in al-Awsat, 8/25, no. 7048].
