The Prophet ﷺ forbade a man from urinating in his bathing place, saying, "Most whisperings of doubt come from that."
Reference, [its chain of transmission is daif]. Nasai narrated it, 1/34, no. 36, in the chapter on Purification, section on the dislike of urinating in the place of bathing, from Ali bin Hajar through the same chain. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1252, as did Hakim according to the criteria of the Two Sheikhs, 1/167, 185, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Hasan Basri conceals his source in transmission and narrates using the ambiguous wording "from" rather than stating direct hearing.Bayhaqi narrated it with a sahih chain from Ibn Mughaffal, as a stopped report attributed to him, 1/98. It has a sahih corroborating report, in brief form, in Abu Dawud, no. 28, and elsewhere. On this topic there is also a narration from a man among the companions of the Prophet, found in Abu Dawud, no. 28, and elsewhere. This is the statement of Ibn Mubarak, and its chain is sahih.
