A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "My son has died. What is my share of his inheritance?"He replied, "You receive a sixth."When the man turned to leave, he called him back and said, "You receive another sixth."When he turned to leave again, he called him back and said, "The second sixth is an extra provision."
حدثنا الحسن بن عرفة حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن همام بن يحيى عن قتادة عن الحسن
جاء رجل إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقال إن ابني مات فما لي في ميراثه قال لك السدس فلما ولى دعاه فقال لك سدس آخر فلما ولى دعاه قال إن السدس الآخر طعمة
[Its chain is daif]. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Inheritance, in the chapter on the inheritance of the grandfather, h: 2896, from the hadith of Hammam with the same wording, and Ibn Jarud graded it sahih, h: 961.Qatada narrated it using the ambiguous "an" form, and Hasan did not hear directly from Imran, as noted in Nayl al-Maqsud, h: 443, which Allah made easy for us to publish.
