The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever leaves behind wealth, it belongs to his family, and whoever leaves behind dependents in need, their care falls upon me."
حدثنا سعيد بن يحيى بن سعيد الأموي حدثنا أبي حدثنا محمد بن عمرو حدثنا أبو سلمة
قال رسول الله ﷺ من ترك مالا فلأهله ومن ترك ضياعا فإلي
[Its isnad is hasan] Ahmad narrated it: 22/287 from the hadith of Muhammad bin Amr in this manner, and its essence is agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim), with Bukhari, no: 2298, and Muslim, no: 1619, narrating it from the hadith of Zuhri from Abu Salama in this manner. There is also a narration on this subject from Jabir [Muslim, no: 867] and Anas [Ahmad: 3/215].
