The Prophet ﷺ used to prescribe olive oil and wars for pleurisy. Qatada said that it would be administered to him from the side of the mouth, applied on the side from which he was suffering.
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا معاذ بن هشام حدثني أبي عن قتادة عن أبي عبد الله
أن النبي ﷺ كان ينعت الزيت والورس من ذات الجنب قال قتادة يلده ويلده من الجانب الذي يشتكيه
[Its isnad is daif]. Ibn Majah also narrated it in the Book of Medicine, chapter on the treatment of pleurisy, hadith no. 3467, from the hadith of Abu Abdullah Maymun, and he is daif as stated in Taqrib and elsewhere.
