Salma, who used to serve the Prophet ﷺ, said, "Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ suffered a sore or an injury, he would tell me to apply henna to it."

[Its chain of transmission is daif] It was also related by Abu Dawud, in the Book of Medicine, chapter on cupping, no. 3858, and Ibn Majah, no. 3502, from the hadith of Faid, by this route.Ali bin Ubaydullah is lenient in his hadith (Taqrib), while the rest of the chain is hasan. The hadith of Zayd bin Hubab was related by Ibn Majah.
