The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best remedies you may use are nasal drops, mouth drops, cupping, and laxatives."When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell ill, his companions administered mouth drops to him. When they had finished, he said, "Give the same treatment to all of them."So they administered it to every one of them except Abbas.
حدثنا محمد بن مدويه حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن حماد الشعيثي حدثنا عباد بن منصور عن عكرمة
قال رسول الله ﷺ إن خير ما تداويتم به السعوط واللدود والحجامة والمشي فلما اشتكى رسول الله ﷺ لده أصحابه فلما فرغوا قال لدوهم قال فلدوا كلهم غير العباس
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Hakim relayed it in 4/209 through Abbad bin Mansur and graded it sahih, but Dhahabi said, "Abbad, they graded him daif." It appears later at 2053. The basic hadith has supporting reports in Bukhari, no. 5712 and elsewhere. The hadith also has a daif supporting report in Abu Dawud's Maraseel and in Bayhaqi 9/346, from the mursal narration of Shaybi, may Allah have mercy on him.Suut (nasal medicine) is mentioned in Bukhari, no. 5691, and ladud (medicine poured into the side of the mouth) in Bukhari, no. 5692.
