The Prophet ﷺ said, "Bilal calls the adhan at night, so eat and drink until you hear the adhan of Ibn Umm Maktum."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا الليث عن ابن شهاب
أن النبي ﷺ قال إن بلالا يؤذن بليل فكلوا واشربوا حتى تسمعوا تأذين ابن أم مكتوم
Agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim). Muslim narrated it in the Book of Fasting, chapter on the fact that entry into fasting occurs with the rising of dawn etc., hadith no. 1092, from the narration of Layth bin Saad. Bukhari narrated it, hadith no. 617, from the narration of Ibn Shihab Zuhri, from him.The subject is also reported from Ibn Masud [Bukhari, no. 621, and Muslim, no. 1093], Ayesha [Bukhari, nos. 622, 623, and Muslim, no. 1092], Anisa [Nasai, 11/2, no. 641], Anas [Ahmad, 3/140], Abu Dharr [Ahmad, 5/171, 172], and Samura bin Jundab [Muslim, 1094].The hadith of Hammad bin Salama was narrated by Abu Dawud, no. 532. The hadith of Ubaydullah bin Umar and others is agreed upon. The hadith of Ibn Abu Rawwad was narrated by Abu Dawud, no. 533.
