The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man will keep exalting himself until he is recorded among the tyrants, and then he will suffer what they suffer."

[Its isnad is daif] It was also narrated by Ibn Adi (5/1676) and Baghawi in Sharh al-Sunnah (13/167, no. 3589) from the hadith of Abu Muawiya Ad-Darir, through the same route, and he explicitly stated that he heard it directly.Umar bin Rashid is daif, as stated in Taqrib and other works.
