The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever abandons lying when it is false will have a house built for him on the outskirts of Paradise. Whoever abandons disputing when he is in the right will have a house built for him in its middle. And whoever has good character will have a house built for him in its highest part."This is a fine hadith. We know it only through the narration of Salama bin Wardan from Anas bin Malik.
Its chain of transmission is daif. Ibn Majah recorded it in his introduction, chapter on avoiding innovations and disputation, hadith 51, from the hadith of Ibn Abu Fudayk with the same wording, and its chain is daif. As for the hadith of Abu Dawud, hadith 4800, Salama bin Wardan is daif (Taqrib), and Tabarani recorded it in 19/8, hadith 7770, and others besides them narrated it from him.
