I said, "Messenger of Allah, I have nothing in my house except what Zubayr brings in to me. May I give from it?"He said, "Yes, and do not tie up your wealth, lest it be tied up against you." Meaning, do not withhold by counting, lest it be withheld from you by counting.

Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abu Dawud also narrated it in the Book of Zakat, Chapter on Stinginess, no. 1699, from the hadith of Ayub, transmitted through the same chain.
