The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Your smile in your brother's face is charity for you. Your enjoining of good and forbidding of evil is charity. Your guiding a man in a land where he has lost his way is charity for you. Your helping a man with poor sight to see is charity for you. Your removing a stone, a thorn, or a bone from the path is charity for you. And your pouring from your bucket into your brother's bucket is charity for you."

قال رسول الله ﷺ تبسمك في وجه أخيك لك صدقة وأمرك بالمعروف ونهيك عن المنكر صدقة وإرشادك الرجل في أرض الضلال لك صدقة وبصرك للرجل الرديء البصر لك صدقة وإماطتك الحجر والشوكة والعظم عن الطريق لك صدقة وإفراغك من دلوك في دلو أخيك لك صدقة
[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Ibn Adi reported it, 5/1913, from the narration of Nadr bin Muhammad, and Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad, no. 891, from the narration of Ikrima bin Ammar with this wording, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 864. It has a corroborating narration in Ahmad, 5/168, from Marthad bin Abdullah Zumari Zumani, whom Tirmidhi and Ibn Hibban considered reliable, so he is hasan al-hadith.On this subject there are also narrations from Ibn Masud [Nasai in Kubra, no. 11701, and Tabarani in Kabir, 10/110, no. 10047], Jabir [coming up, 1970], Huzaifa [Muslim, no. 1005], Ayesha [Muslim, no. 1007], and Abu Hurairah [Bukhari, no. 2989, and Muslim, no. 1009].
