The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Bilal, "Bilal, when you call the adhan, draw out your words slowly, and when you call the iqamah, be brief. Leave between your adhan and your iqamah enough time for someone eating to finish his meal, for someone drinking to finish his drink, and for someone needing to relieve himself to do so. And do not stand up for the prayer until you see me."

The hadith has other daif routes found in Hakim (1/204), Bayhaqi, and others.
