The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Your brothers are servants whom Allah has placed under your authority. Whoever has his brother under his charge should feed him from what he eats and clothe him from what he wears, and should not burden him with what overwhelms him. If he does burden him with what overwhelms him, then let him help him."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي حدثنا سفيان عن واصل عن المعرور بن سويد
قال رسول الله ﷺ إخوانكم جعلهم الله فتية تحت أيديكم فمن كان أخوه تحت يده فليطعمه من طعامه وليلبسه من لباسه ولا يكلفه ما يغلبه فإن كلفه ما يغلبه فليعنه
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim]. Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Faith, chapter on sins from the affairs of pre-Islamic ignorance, etc., hadith no. 30, and Muslim, hadith no. 1661, both from the hadith of Wasil al-Ahdab through this chain.On this subject there are also narrations from Ali [Abu Dawud, no. 5156], Umm Salama [Ibn Majah, no. 1625], Ibn Umar [to come, no. 1949], and Abu Hurairah [Abu Dawud, no. 5165].
