The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The merciful are shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Show mercy to those on earth, and the One in heaven will show mercy to you. The womb is a branch from the Most Merciful, so whoever maintains its ties, Allah maintains ties with him, and whoever severs it, Allah severs ties with him."
حدثنا ابن أبي عمر حدثنا سفيان عن عمرو بن دينار عن أبي قابوس
قال رسول الله ﷺ الراحمون يرحمهم الرحمن ارحموا من في الأرض يرحمكم من في السماء الرحم شجنة من الرحمن فمن وصلها وصله الله ومن قطعها قطعه الله
[Its chain is hasan]. Abu Dawud also narrated it, no. 4941, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, transmitting it the same way, and he made explicit the fact of direct hearing in Humaydi, no. 591. Hakim and Dhahabi graded it sahih (4/159), as did Iraqi and others. The hadith has many corroborating narrations.
