The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He is not one of us who does not show mercy to our young and acknowledge the honor of our elders."Hannad narrated to us that Abdah narrated to them from Muhammad bin Ishaq something similar, except that he said, "and acknowledge the right of our elders."
حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن أبان حدثنا محمد بن فضيل عن محمد بن إسحق
قال رسول الله ﷺ ليس منا من لم يرحم صغيرنا ويعرف شرف كبيرنا حدثنا هناد حدثنا عبدة عن محمد بن إسحق نحوه إلا أنه قال ويعرف حق كبيرنا
[Hasan]Ahmad (2/185) also narrated it through Amr bin Shuayb with the same wording. The hadith has many corroborating narrations found in Abu Dawud (no. 4943) and others, among them what Bukhari narrated in Adab al-Mufrad (no. 353). Hakim graded it sahih (4/178) and Dhahabi agreed with him.Muhammad bin Ishaq was corroborated by Abdul-Rahman bin Harith in Ahmad's narration.
