The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out one day carrying one of his daughter's two sons, and he was saying, "You make people stingy, cowardly, and ignorant, yet you are among the sweet basil of Allah."
حدثنا ابن أبي عمر حدثنا سفيان عن إبراهيم بن ميسرة قال سمعت ابن أبي سويد يقول سمعت عمر بن عبد العزيز يقول زعمت المرأة الصالحة
خرج رسول الله ﷺ ذات يوم وهو محتضن أحد ابني ابنته وهو يقول إنكم لتبخلون وتجبنون وتجهلون وإنكم لمن ريحان الله
Its isnad is daif. Humaydi (no. 334) and Ahmad (6/409) also narrated it through Sufyan bin Uyayna via the same route. Ibn Abu Suwayd is majhul al-hal (his status is unknown), see Taqrib and elsewhere, and Umar bin Abdul-Aziz's narration from Khawla is disconnected. On this subject there is also a narration from Ibn Umar [coming up at 3797] and from Ashath bin Qays [Ibn Majah, no. 2612, and Ahmad, 5/211].
