The drink most beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the sweet, cold one.
حدثنا ابن أبي عمر حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن معمر عن الزهري عن عروة
كان أحب الشراب إلى رسول الله ﷺ الحلو البارد
[Its chain is daif]. Nasai also narrated it in Kubra, no. 6844, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna through the same route, and he stated clearly that he heard it directly, as found in Humaydi, no. 258. Zuhri is a mudallis and he narrated it using "an" (an ambiguous form indicating possible indirect transmission). The hadith has a daif corroborating narration in Ahmad, 1/338.
