It is reported that the Prophet ﷺ forbade drinking while standing.
حدثنا حميد بن مسعدة حدثنا خالد بن الحارث عن سعيد عن قتادة عن أبي مسلم الجذمي
ى أن النبي ﷺ نهى عن الشرب قائما
[Sahih]. Tabarani also reported it in Al-Kabir, 2/268, no. 2124, from the hadith of Khalid bin Harith with this same wording. Saeed here is Ibn Abu Aruba, and Jarud is Ibn Amr bin Mualla Abdi, known by the kunya Abu Mundhir. This hadith has corroborating narrations in Muslim and elsewhere.The hadith of Qatada, from Yazid bin Abdullah bin Shikhir, was reported by Tabarani, 2/265, no. 2115, and Khalid Haddan followed him in narrating it. Ayub also narrated it from Yazid, from Mutarrif, from Abu Muslim, from Jarud with this wording. There is another route for it in Ibn Majah, no. 2502. This hadith has many corroborating narrations and it is a sahih hadith.On this subject there is also a narration from Abu Saeed (Muslim, 2025).
