The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Every intoxicant is forbidden. Whatever intoxicates in a large quantity, even a handful of it is forbidden."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا عبد الأعلى بن عبد الأعلى عن هشام بن حسان عن مهدي بن ميمون ح و حدثنا عبد الله بن معاوية الجمحي حدثنا مهدي بن ميمون المعنى واحد عن أبي عثمان الأنصاري عن القاسم بن محمد
قال رسول الله ﷺ كل مسكر حرام ما أسكر الفرق منه فملء الكف منه حرام
[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Drinks, chapter on what has been said about intoxicants, no. 3687, from the hadith of Mahdi bin Maymun with this wording, and Ibn Jarud graded it sahih, no. 861, and so did Ibn Hibban, no. 1388.
