The Prophet ﷺ was asked about bita, and he said, "Every drink that intoxicates is forbidden."
حدثنا إسحق بن موسى الأنصاري حدثنا معن حدثنا مالك بن أنس عن ابن شهاب عن أبي سلمة
أن النبي ﷺ سئل عن البتع فقال كل شراب أسكر فهو حرام
Its chain of transmission is agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim. Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on Drinks, the section on wine made from honey, which is called bit, hadith no. 5585, and Muslim, hadith no. 2001, both from the hadith of Malik with this same wording, and it is found in Muwatta 2/845.
