The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Every intoxicant is khamr, and every intoxicant is forbidden. Whoever drinks wine in this world and dies addicted to it will not drink it in the Hereafter."
حدثنا أبو زكريا يحيى بن درست البصري حدثنا حماد بن زيد عن أيوب عن نافع
قال رسول الله ﷺ كل مسكر خمر وكل مسكر حرام ومن شرب الخمر في الدنيا فمات وهو يدمنها لم يشربها في الآخرة
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim]. Muslim also recorded it in the Book of Drinks, chapter stating that every intoxicant is wine, and every wine is forbidden, no. 2003, from the hadith of Hammad bin Zayd, and Bukhari, no. 5575, from the hadith of Nafi, both in full and abridged forms.On this topic there are also narrations from Abu Hurairah [Bukhari, no. 2475, and Muslim, no. 57], Abu Saeed [Muslim, no. 1578, and Abd bin Humayd, no. 983], Abdullah bin Amr [Ahmad, 2/209], Ibn Abbas [Abu Dawud, no. 3680, and Ahmad, 1/272], Ubadah [Ibn Majah, no. 3385], and Abu Malik Ashari [Bukhari, no. 5590, and Abu Dawud, no. 3688].
