The Prophet ﷺ said, "A house in which there are no dates, its people go hungry."
حدثنا محمد بن سهل بن عسكر البغدادي وعبد الله بن عبد الرحمن قالا حدثنا يحيى بن حسان حدثنا سليمان بن بلال عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه
عن النبي ﷺ قال بيت لا تمر فيه جياع أهله
Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Drinks, chapter on bringing dates and similar provisions into the household for the family, hadith 2046, from Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman Darimi, with the same wording. This is also found in his Musnad, 2/104, hadith 2067.There is also a version on this subject from Salma, the wife of Abu Rafi [Ibn Majah, hadith 3328].
