The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade pairing two dates together in one bite without first seeking permission from one's companion.
حدثنا محمود بن غيلان حدثنا أبو أحمد الزبيري وعبيد الله عن الثوري عن جبلة بن سحيم
نهى رسول الله ﷺ أن يقرن بين التمرتين حتى يستأذن صاحبه
Agreed upon. Bukhari reported it in the Book of Partnership, chapter, Combining dates between partners until one asks permission of one's partners, hadith no. 2489, and Muslim, hadith no. 2045, both from the hadith of Thawri, with this wording. There is also a report on this subject from Saad, the freed slave of Abu Bakr, in Ibn Majah, hadith no. 3332.
