The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fed us the meat of horses and forbade us from eating the meat of donkeys.
حدثنا قتيبة ونصر بن علي قالا حدثنا سفيان عن عمرو بن دينار
أطعمنا رسول الله ﷺ لحوم الخيل ونهانا عن لحوم الحمر
[Sahih] Nasai also narrated it in the Book of Hunting, chapter on permission to eat horse meat, 7/201, no. 4333, from Qutayba, from him. Sufyan here is Ibn Uyayna.The hadith of Hammad bin Zayd was narrated by Bukhari, no. 4219 and elsewhere, and by Muslim, no. 1941/36, from him.On this subject there is also a hadith from Asma bint Abu Bakr [Bukhari, no. 5511 and Muslim, no. 1942].
