The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from riding upon silken saddle cushions. He added that there is a longer story behind this hadith.

Agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim). Muslim narrated it in the Book of Clothing and Adornment, chapter on the prohibition of using vessels of gold and silver etc., no. 2066, from the hadith of Ali bin Mushir. Bukhari narrated it, no. 6235, from the hadith of Abu Ishaq Shaybani, with this same wording, both in full and abridged forms.There are also narrations on this subject from Ali [Muslim, no. 2078] and Muawiya [Tahawi in Mushkil Athar: 4/263].
