Abu Hurairah reported,

The Prophet ﷺ forbade two manners of dressing, the Samma wrap, and that a man sit wrapped in his garment with nothing covering his private parts.

Darussalam

Its chain of transmission is sahih. Bukhari also narrated it, in the Book of Clothing, chapter on wrapping oneself in a single garment, hadith 5822, from the hadith of Abu Hurairah with a similar meaning.There are also reports on this subject from Ali [Hakim: 4/119], Ibn Umar [Bukhari, hadith 6272], Ayesha [Ibn Majah, hadith 3561], Abu Saeed [Bukhari, hadith 3377], Jabir [Muslim, hadith 2099], and Abu Umama [I did not find it].
