The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was a servant under command. He did not single us out with anything to the exclusion of others except in three matters. He instructed us to perform ablution thoroughly, not to consume charity, and not to breed a donkey with a mare.
حدثنا أبو كريب حدثنا إسمعيل بن إبراهيم حدثنا أبو جهضم موسى بن سالم عن عبد الله بن عبيد الله بن عباس
كان رسول الله ﷺ عبدا مأمورا ما اختصنا دون الناس بشيء إلا بثلاث أمرنا أن نسبغ الوضوء وأن لا نأكل الصدقة وأن لا ننزي حمارا على فرس
[Its chain of transmission is hasan]. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Prayer, chapter on the length of recitation in Dhuhr and Asr prayer, no. 808, Nasai, no. 141, and Ibn Majah, no. 426, from the hadith of Abu Jahdam Musa bin Salim, with this same chain. The hadith has other routes as well.There is also a report on this subject from Ali [Abu Dawud, no. 2565, and Nasai, no. 3610].
