[Sahih]. Abu Dawud reported it in jihad, chapter on decorating swords, no. 2583, and Nasai, no. 5376, both from the hadith of Jareer bin Hazim, with the same wording. The hadith has corroborating narrations in Nasai, no. 5375, and elsewhere. Abu Dawud also reported it, no. 2584, from Qatada, from Saeed bin Abu Hasan, with the same wording.
