The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Standing guard for a single day in the path of Allah is better than the world and all it contains. A space in Paradise the size of one of your whips is better than the world and all it contains. An evening or a morning that a servant spends traveling in the path of Allah is better than the world and all it contains."This is a hasan sahih hadith.
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي النضر حدثنا أبو النضر البغدادي حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله بن دينار عن أبي حازم
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال رباط يوم في سبيل الله خير من الدنيا وما فيها وموضع سوط أحدكم في الجنة خير من الدنيا وما فيها ولروحة يروحها العبد في سبيل الله أو لغدوة خير من الدنيا وما فيها هذا حديث حسن صحيح
Bukhari also narrated it in the book of jihad and expeditions, chapter on the merit of standing guard for a day in the path of Allah, hadith no. 2892, from the hadith of Abu Nadr through the same chain. The hadith has other routes in Bukhari, hadith nos. 2794, 6415, 3250, and in Muslim, hadith no. 113/1881, 114, and others besides them.
