The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever equips a fighter in the cause of Allah has himself fought, and whoever looks after a fighter's family in his absence has himself fought."
حدثنا أبو زكريا يحيى بن درست البصري حدثنا أبو إسمعيل حدثنا يحيى بن أبي كثير عن أبي سلمة عن بسر بن سعيد
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال من جهز غازيا في سبيل الله فقد غزا ومن خلف غازيا في أهله فقد غزا
Its authenticity is agreed upon (muttafaq alayh). Bukhari narrated it in the Book of jihad and Expeditions, chapter on the merit of one who equips a fighter or looks after his dependents in his absence, hadith no. 2843, and Muslim, hadith no. 1895, from the hadith of Yahya bin Abu Kathir, with this wording.Abu Ismail is al-Qannad.
