The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No servant fasts a single day in the path of Allah without Allah distancing the Fire from his face by seventy years on account of that day."
حدثنا سعيد بن عبد الرحمن المخزومي حدثنا عبد الله بن الوليد العدني حدثنا سفيان الثوري قال و حدثنا محمود بن غيلان حدثنا عبيد الله بن موسى عن سفيان عن سهيل بن أبي صالح عن النعمان بن أبي عياش الزرقي
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا يصوم عبد يوما في سبيل الله إلا باعد ذلك اليوم النار عن وجهه سبعين خريفا
Agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim). Bukhari reported it in the Book of Jihad and Expeditions, Chapter on the merit of fasting in the cause of Allah, no. 2840, and Muslim, no. 1153, from the hadith of Suhayl bin Abu Salih, through this same chain.
