A woman said, "I am a woman who lets her hem trail long, and I walk through filthy places."She replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'What comes after it purifies it.'"
حدثنا أبو رجاء قتيبة حدثنا مالك بن أنس عن محمد بن عمارة عن محمد بن إبراهيم عن أم ولد لعبد الرحمن بن عوف قالت
إني امرأة أطيل ذيلي وأمشي في المكان القذر فقالت قال رسول الله ﷺ يطهره ما بعده
[Hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Purification, Chapter on impurity that soils the hem, hadith 383, and Ibn Majah, hadith 531, from the hadith of Malik through the same chain, and it is found in Muwatta 1/24 (Yahya's version), though its chain is daif. The hadith has supporting narrations in Abu Dawud (384) and elsewhere. There is also a narration on this subject from Ibn Masud [Abu Dawud, hadith 204].
