Saeed bin Zayd reported,

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever is killed defending his property is a martyr, and whoever steals even a hand-span of land will have it placed around his neck on the Day of Resurrection from the depth of seven earths."Hatim bin Sayah al-Marwazi added in this hadith that Muamar said, "It reached me from Zuhri, though I did not hear it directly from him," and he added in this hadith, "Whoever is killed defending his property is a martyr."Likewise, Shuayb bin Abu Hamza narrated this hadith from Zuhri, from Talha bin Abdullah, from Abdul-Rahman bin Amr bin Sahl, from Saeed bin Zayd, from the Prophet ﷺ.Sufyan bin Uyayna narrated it from Zuhri, from Talha bin Abdullah, from Saeed bin Zayd, from the Prophet ﷺ, but Sufyan did not mention in his version Abdul-Rahman bin Amr bin Sahl.This is a hasan sahih hadith.

حدثنا سلمة بن شبيب وحاتم بن سياه المروزي وغير واحد قالوا حدثنا عبد الرزاق عن معمر عن الزهري عن طلحة بن عبد الله بن عوف عن عبد الرحمن بن عمرو بن سهل

عن سعيد بن زيد بن عمرو بن نفيل

عن النبي ﷺ قال من قتل دون ماله فهو شهيد ومن سرق من الأرض شبرا طوقه يوم القيامة من سبع أرضين وزاد حاتم بن سياه المروزي في هذا الحديث قال معمر بلغني عن الزهري ولم أسمع منه زاد في هذا الحديث من قتل دون ماله فهو شهيد وهكذا روى شعيب بن أبي حمزة هذا الحديث عن الزهري عن طلحة بن عبد الله عن عبد الرحمن بن عمرو بن سهل عن سعيد بن زيد عن النبي ﷺ وروى سفيان بن عيينة عن الزهري عن طلحة بن عبد الله عن سعيد بن زيد عن النبي ﷺ ولم يذكر فيه سفيان عن عبد الرحمن بن عمرو بن سهل وهذا حديث حسن صحيح
