The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever kills his slave, we will kill him, and whoever mutilates his slave, we will mutilate him."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا أبو عوانة عن قتادة عن الحسن
قال رسول الله ﷺ من قتل عبده قتلناه ومن جدع عبده جدعناه
Hasan. Nasai also narrated it 8/21, hadith 4742 (Qasama, chapter on retaliation from the master on behalf of the client/freed slave), from Qutayba through him, and Hakim graded it sahih according to the criteria of Bukhari, 4/367, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Abu Dawud also narrated it, hadith 4515, and others, from the hadith of Qatada through him.
