The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah has prescribed excellence in all things. So when you kill, kill in the best manner, and when you slaughter, slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his blade and put the animal at ease."He said, this is a hasan sahih hadith. Abu Ashath al-Sanani's name is Shurahbil bin Adah.
حدثنا أحمد بن منيع حدثنا هشيم حدثنا خالد عن أبي قلابة عن أبي الأشعث الصنعاني
أن النبي ﷺ قال إن الله كتب الإحسان على كل شيء فإذا قتلتم فأحسنوا القتلة وإذا ذبحتم فأحسنوا الذبحة وليحد أحدكم شفرته وليرح ذبيحته قال هذا حديث حسن صحيح أبو الأشعث الصنعاني اسمه شراحيل بن آدة
Muslim also reported it in the Book of Hunting and Slaughtered Animals, Chapter on the Command to Slaughter and Kill Well and to Sharpen the Blade, hadith no. 1955, from the hadith of Khalid Haddan, with this chain.
