Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim]. Bukhari related it in the Book of Lost Property, chapter "If the owner of the lost property comes after a year, it is returned to him, because it is held as a trust," hadith 2436, and Muslim, hadith 1722, from Qutayba, with this wording.On this subject there are also narrations from Ubayy bin Kaab [to come, 1374], Abdullah bin Umar (the correct name is Abdullah bin Amr, previously mentioned at 1289 in abridged form) and Abu Dawud, hadith 1710–1713, Jarud bin Mualla [Ahmad 5/80, and Darimi, hadith 2604, 2605], Iyad bin Himar [Abu Dawud, hadith 1709], and Jareer bin Abdullah [Abu Dawud, hadith 1720].
