I heard him say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If one of you asks his neighbor's permission to fix a wooden beam into his wall, he should not refuse him."When Abu Hurairah narrated this, those present lowered their heads. So he said, "Why do I see you turning away from it? By Allah, I will keep throwing it between your shoulders."
حدثنا سعيد بن عبد الرحمن المخزومي حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن الزهري عن الأعرج
سمعته يقول قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا استأذن أحدكم جاره أن يغرز خشبه في جداره فلا يمنعه فلما حدث أبو هريرة طأطئوا رءوسهم فقال ما لي أراكم عنها معرضين والله لأرمين بها بين أكتافكم
Agreed upon. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Injustices, Chapter, "A man may not prevent his neighbor from fixing a piece of wood in his wall," hadith 2463, 2467, and Muslim, hadith 1609, from the hadith of Zuhri through this same chain. Abu Dawud also narrated it, hadith 3634, and others, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna through this same chain.There is also a report on this subject from Ibn Abbas [Ibn Majah, hadith 2337], and from Mujammi bin Jariya [Ibn Majah, hadith 2336].
