The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not sell singing slave-girls, do not buy them, and do not teach them. There is no good in trading in them, and their price is unlawful. It was concerning matters such as this that the verse was revealed, 'And of mankind is he who purchases idle talk to mislead others from the path of Allah' [Luqman 31:6], to the end of the verse."
حدثنا قتيبة أخبرنا بكر بن مضر عن عبيد الله بن زحر عن علي بن يزيد عن القاسم
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال لا تبيعوا القينات ولا تشتروهن ولا تعلموهن ولا خير في تجارة فيهن وثمنهن حرام في مثل هذا أنزلت هذه الآية {ومن الناس من يشتري لهو الحديث ليضل عن سبيل الله} إلى آخر الآية
[Its chain is daif] Ahmad narrated it in 5:264 from the hadith of Bakr bin Mudar, and Ibn Majah in 2168, from the hadith of Abu Umama through the same route. Ali bin Yazid is discarded (matruk).There is also a report on this subject from Umar bin Khattab, [Tabarani in Al-Kabir, 1:73, no. 87].
