The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, and Qutayba reported it as traced back to the Prophet ﷺ, "A town-dweller must not sell on behalf of a desert-dweller."
حدثنا قتيبة وأحمد بن منيع قالا حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن الزهري عن سعيد بن المسيب
قال رسول الله ﷺ وقال قتيبة يبلغ به النبي ﷺ قال لا يبيع حاضر لباد
Bukhari also narrated it in the Book of Sales, in the chapter "A man should not sell over another's sale... etc," no. 2140, from his brother, through the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, with the same wording.
