He said, "He must perform the full bath."He was also asked about a man who dreams that he has had a wet dream but finds no wetness. He said, "No bath is required of him."Umm Salama asked, "Messenger of Allah, must a woman who experiences that perform the full bath?"He replied, "Yes, for women are the counterparts of men."
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Purification, the chapter on a man who finds moisture on himself while asleep, hadith no. 236, and Ibn Majah, no. 612, from the hadith of Hammad bin Khalid, through this same chain, from Abdullah bin Umar Umari, who is daif when narrating from anyone other than Nafi. It has several corroborating narrations in Muslim, hadith no. 314, and elsewhere.
