The Prophet ﷺ said, "The unchaste women are those who give themselves in marriage without evidence."Yusuf bin Hammad said that Abdul-Ala raised this hadith as marfu in the Tafsir, but reported it as mawquf in the Book of Divorce and did not raise it.

[Its chain of transmission is daif] Tabarani narrated it: 12/182, no. 1282, and Bayhaqi: 7/125, 126, from the hadith of Yusuf bin Hammad, through this same route. Saeed bin Abu Aruba and Qatada both used the term "an" (indicating a possible break in transmission). The hadith has corroborating narrations, both raised and stopped, including the preceding hadith.
