The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When someone whose religion and character please you proposes to marry your daughter, give her to him in marriage. If you do not, there will be turmoil on earth and widespread corruption."
[Its isnad is daif. Ibn Majah narrated it in the Book of Marriage, Chapter on Suitable Matches, no. 1967, the same hadith that Hakim graded sahih in 2/164, via Abdul-Hameed bin Sulayman, who is daif, and his teacher is a mudallis who used the ambiguous "an" form of narration, also at 165, so Dhahabi critiqued this.On this topic there is also a report from Abu Hatim Muzani [to come, no. 1085] and from Ayesha [Daylami, no. 3154, without a chain of transmission, or he may be referring to the hadith of Ayesha narrated by Bukhari, no. 4000].]
