The Prophet ﷺ performed ablution and wiped over the leather socks and the turban.Bakr said, "I also heard this from Ibn Mughira."He said that Muhammad bin Bashshar mentioned in another place regarding this hadith that he wiped over his forelock and his turban. This hadith has been narrated through several routes from Mughira bin Shuba. Some of them mentioned wiping over the forelock and the turban, while others did not mention the forelock.I heard Ahmad bin al-Hasan say, "I heard Ahmad bin Hanbal say, 'I have never seen with my own eyes anyone like Yahya bin Saeed al-Qattan.'"
Sourced by Muslim, in the chapter on Purification, the section on wiping over the forelock and turban, hadith no. 274, from Ibn Bashar, with this wording. Ahmad said regarding Qattan, "Sahih," and Waki said, "Its chain is also sahih."On this same topic there are narrations from Amr bin Umaya [Bukhari, no. 204, 205], Salman [Ibn Majah, no. 563], Thawban [Abu Dawud, no. 146], and Abu Umama [Majma 1/260 and Nasb Raya 1/172].
