Muaz stood and led the night prayer, prolonging it. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Are you a cause of trial, Muaz? Are you a cause of trial, Muaz? Why did you not recite 'Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High' [Ala 87:1], or 'By the morning brightness' [Duha 93:1], or 'When the sky breaks apart' [Infitar 82:1]?"
أخبرنا محمد بن قدامة قال حدثنا جرير عن الأعمش عن محارب بن دثار
قام معاذ فصلى العشاء الآخرة فطول فقال النبي ﷺ أفتان يا معاذ أفتان يا معاذ أين كنت عن سبح اسم ربك الأعلى والضحى وإذا السماء انفطرت
