A man heard another man reciting "Say, He is Allah, the One" [Ikhlas 112:1], repeating it over and over. In the morning, he came to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned this to him.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "By the One in whose hand my soul rests, it equals a third of the Quran."
أخبرنا قتيبة عن مالك عن عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن بن أبي صعصعة عن أبيه
أن رجلا سمع رجلا يقرأ قل هو الله أحد يرددها فلما أصبح جاء إلى النبي ﷺ فذكر ذلك له فقال رسول الله ﷺ والذي نفسي بيده إنها لتعدل ثلث القرآن
Bukhari, Fadail Quran, Bab Fadl Qul Huwa Allah Ahad, no. 5013, narrated it from Malik through this same chain. It is also in Kubra, no. 1067, and Muwatta (Yahya), 1/208.
