I have not prayed behind anyone whose prayer more closely resembled the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than that of so-and-so.Sulayman said, "He used to lengthen the first two units of the noon prayer and shorten the last two, shorten the afternoon prayer, recite the short surahs of the Mufassal in the sunset prayer, recite the medium-length surahs of the Mufassal in the night prayer, and recite the longer surahs of the Mufassal in the dawn prayer."
Its isnad is sahih. Ibn Majah collected it in Iqamat al-Salawat, chapter on recitation during Dhuhr and Asr, hadith no. 827, from the hadith of Dahhak, as above. It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 1054. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith no. 520, as did Ibn Hibban (Ihsan), hadith no. 1837.
